The fifth beta of iOS 27 expands Siri AI voice customization, enabling Pace and Expressivity adjustments for a broader set of voices rather than only the two American voices previously limited.
Siri AI voice customization expanded
Pace and Expressivity can now be adjusted for more available voice options. There are seven American voice options and four British voices to choose from, all of which can be customized with different Pace and Expressivity settings. Pace changes the talking speed, while Expressivity changes emphasis.
Device requirements and on‑device processing
Siri AI voice customization is performed on‑device, so the feature is limited to newer hardware. On iPhone, you need an iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, or iPhone Air to use voice customization. It is also available on Macs with an M3 chip or newer and at least 12GB of RAM, and on the M4 iPad Pro and newer, also with at least 12GB of RAM.
