Swipey alternatives for Malaysian businesses

Swipey alternatives: at a glance

Swipey is a Malaysian FinOps platform that helps businesses and freelancers manage expenses, employee spending and payments from one dashboard, offering virtual, corporate and travel cards, real-time expense tracking and accounting integrations with Bukku, QuickBooks and Xero. Swipey does not offer a multi-currency account or foreign-currency balances for international payments; its Freemium plan supports up to two users, while paid plans start at RM29/user/month and add more cards, receipt storage and automated bill payments. This guide compares five alternatives available to Malaysian businesses — WorldFirst, Instarem Business, Airwallex, Payoneer and PayPal — with a focus on multi-currency receiving, cross-border payments, cards and integrations.

WorldFirst (World Account)

WorldFirst offers the World Account, a multi-currency account that lets Malaysian users receive and hold USD and MYR via local receiving account details. Funds can be kept in currency, converted between USD, MYR and CNH, or used to send international payments in those currencies. The World Account can receive payouts from 130+ marketplaces and payment gateways, including Amazon, Etsy, Stripe and Shopify. Additional features noted include Firm Orders for eligible USD, MYR and CNH transactions and World Pay as the authorised international payments provider for 1688.com to pay Chinese suppliers directly. Fees were checked in September 2026.

Instarem Business

Instarem Business provides an international business account for sending and receiving cross-border payments to 160+ countries and can pay up to 1,000 salaries in a single transaction. Its Global Collection Account can receive funds in USD, AUD, SGD, HKD, JPY, NZD, EUR and GBP, subject to application and approval. Businesses can fund transfers using bank-issued VISA or Mastercard cards. Published fees (checked September 2026) list account opening zero, subscription zero, sending money from 0.65%, receiving money from 0.30% and withdrawal zero.

Airwallex

Airwallex provides a multi-currency account supporting 20+ currencies, including MYR, USD and EUR, and allows businesses to receive and hold funds, make international transfers and accept online payments. Airwallex also offers multi-currency corporate cards, expense management and integrations with accounting and e-commerce platforms used in Malaysia such as Xero, Shopify and WooCommerce. Fee items noted (checked September 2026) include account and wallet zero, local transfers zero, SWIFT transfers RM30–RM90, FX conversion 0.4%–1.0% and corporate cards zero.

Payoneer

Payoneer enables cross-border receiving and sending across 190+ countries and in 70+ currencies. Businesses can receive funds via local receiving account details, hold balances in multiple currencies such as USD, GBP and EUR, and make bulk transfers to up to 1,000 contacts. The platform supports payments to suppliers and contractors, marketplace integrations and commercial Mastercard-powered cards. Fees (checked September 2026) include account opening zero, an annual account fee of US$29.95 if less than US$6,000 is received in 12 consecutive months, receiving via non-local currency account from 1%, currency conversion 0.50% and a card annual fee of US$29.95.

PayPal

PayPal offers payment acceptance tools for Malaysian businesses — checkout, payment links and invoices — and supports international transactions and integrations with online selling channels such as WooCommerce and Shopify. It is primarily a payment acceptance and international money transfer platform rather than a multi-currency business account for holding multiple foreign-currency balances. Fees (checked September 2026) include account opening zero, monthly account fee zero, receiving funds from 4.40% plus a fixed fee, sending funds from 2% and currency conversion from 3.5%.

How Swipey fits with multi-currency accounts

Swipey focuses on corporate cards, expense management, bill payments and financial operations for Malaysian businesses and freelancers. For functions such as receiving international payments, holding foreign currencies or paying overseas suppliers, businesses can pair Swipey with any of the multi-currency providers above that support local receiving details and foreign-currency balances. The services address different operational needs and can be used together where appropriate.
