Ultra Security Raises $10M Seed to Monitor Autonomous AI Agents

Ultra Security, a Birmingham, Michigan startup based at 333 Park St., announced a $10 million seed round as it emerges from stealth to give companies visibility into what autonomous AI agents are doing behind the scenes. The company was founded in 2025 by Chase Lee, the former founder and CEO of Trustpage.

Ultra Security’s platform and claims

Ultra describes its product as an agentic security platform that sits between AI agents and the MCP servers and connectors those agents call. Every agent-to-tool interaction is logged, traced and made queryable, providing security teams with a record of what an agent accessed and why. The company says the platform offers guardrails, governance, observability and connectivity and runs locally by default to keep sensitive agent activity under customer control.

Ultra also says it has lined up compliance credentials ahead of a public launch, claiming SOC 2 Type II, ISO 27001 and ISO 42001 certification along with AARM Extended conformance. The company reports it completed a FedRAMP 20x Class B audit with a third-party assessment organization and is pursuing full FedRAMP certification.

Investors in the $10 million seed round include Ludlow Ventures, Hidden Capital, Entrée Capital, Detroit Venture Partners, firedrop and FDVC. The company intends to use the funds to expand operations and development efforts.

A crowded, well-funded AI security market

Ultra is entering a fast-growing corner of cybersecurity focused on securing autonomous AI agents. Recent large raises in the sector include a $400 million round for Island at a $6.4 billion valuation and a $600 million raise by Cyera at a $12 billion valuation. Overall, cybersecurity and privacy-related startups raised $10.6 billion globally across funding stages in the first half of 2026, with second-quarter funding totaling $4.4 billion — roughly a 30% drop from the prior quarter and the year-ago period — even as the quarter produced eight rounds of $100 million or more.

Seed-stage investment specifically in AI-focused security startups is bucking that broader slowdown: seed rounds in that category total $855 million across more than 150 reported rounds so far in 2026, putting the category on track for an all-time high. Ultra’s $10 million raise sits within that surge as more businesses adopt autonomous agents and demand tools to monitor agent activity.
