Apple has unveiled a new subscription model for App Store developers, introducing monthly subscriptions with a 12-month commitment. This model allows developers to offer subscribers the benefits of an annual subscription at a discounted rate, while payments are made monthly to enhance affordability. Subscribers have the flexibility to cancel anytime, ensuring that the subscription will not renew once their commitment is fulfilled. The feature enhances transparency by enabling users to easily track their completed and remaining payments. Notifications will be sent via email and push alerts before renewals. Developers can start creating these subscriptions in App Store Connect and test them in Xcode immediately, with availability to users expected next month with the release of iOS 26.5. However, the United States and Singapore are currently excluded from this offering, with no specified timeline for their inclusion.
