After years of using WeTransfer, I recently found its limitations increasingly restrictive. The free version now caps transfers at 3 GB, limits users to 10 transfers monthly, and shortens link validity to three days. For someone frequently sending large videos or project files, these restrictions became a burden. Seeking alternatives, I tested six platforms over a week, evaluating speed, ease of use, reliability, and security. Smash impressed with its unlimited file size for free users and a minimalist interface, though free links expire quickly. TransferNow offered reliable uploads up to 5 GB with useful download notifications. Send Anywhere allowed 10 GB transfers and cross-platform convenience, though with limited link duration. pCloud Transfer emphasized security with end-to-end encryption for 5 GB transfers. MASV excelled in handling massive files up to 5 TB, ideal for media professionals. SFTP To Go provided enterprise-grade security, suitable for sensitive or recurring transfers. Each platform caters to different needs, from casual sharing to professional-grade security and scalability.
