Apple is gearing up for a major announcement in September 2025, with invites already sent out for an event on Tuesday, September 9, at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California. This aligns with Apple’s annual tradition of unveiling new iPhone models each fall.
During the event, Apple is anticipated to introduce the next-generation iPhone 17, alongside a new ultra-thin iPhone 17 Air, and the high-end iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max models.
Based on previous years, pre-orders for the new devices are expected to begin on Friday, September 12, with the official release scheduled for Friday, September 19.
The iPhone 17 series is set to feature numerous upgrades. The standard iPhone 17 will boast a 6.3-inch display, an increase from the previous 6.1 inches, and all models will include 120 Hz ProMotion displays. A new “Air” variant will replace the Plus model, offering a super-thin design.
The Pro models are expected to feature a half-glass, half-aluminum chassis with a redesigned horizontal camera bump. Additionally, Apple plans to introduce its first in-house 5G modem chip in the iPhone 17 Air, with all models supporting Wi-Fi 7.
Camera enhancements include a 24MP front selfie camera across all models, with Pro versions potentially featuring three 48MP rear cameras, 8× optical zoom, and 8K video support. Memory upgrades will see Pro and Air variants with 12GB RAM, while the standard model will maintain 8GB.
Battery improvements are also anticipated, with support for up to 35W wired and Qi2 25W wireless charging. Pro models will benefit from a thermal system upgrade for enhanced performance.
In addition to the iPhone 17 series, Apple is expected to announce the Apple Watch SE 3, Apple Watch Series 11, and Apple Watch Ultra 3 at this fall event.
