What is Ferrari’s new $640,000 EV designed by Jony Ive?

Ferrari has introduced the Luce, its inaugural fully electric vehicle, crafted in collaboration with former Apple design chief Jony Ive. The car’s design, developed alongside Sir Jony Ive and Marc Newson at LoveFrom, showcases a unified aesthetic that seamlessly integrates the exterior, interior, and interface with a focus on clarity and simplicity. The Luce features a smooth, uninterrupted exterior with a shell-like form and aerodynamic wings at the front and rear.

Inside, the car combines precision-engineered mechanical controls with multifunctional digital displays. The steering wheel is crafted from 100% recycled aluminum, emphasizing sustainability. The Luce is a four-door, five-seat vehicle equipped with four electric motors delivering up to 1,035 horsepower, powered by a high-capacity 122 kWh battery. It can accelerate from 0 to 100 km/h in just 2.5 seconds.

A dedicated app provides climate control and charging settings, as well as real-time status updates of the vehicle. The Luce is priced starting at €550,000 in Europe, with production slated to begin in late 2026, and it will be available in the U.S. by the second quarter of 2027.
