Apple is set to introduce significant updates in iOS 27, with a major overhaul of Siri and enhancements to apps like Camera, Photos, and Wallet. The Camera app will integrate Visual Intelligence directly, allowing users to identify objects and gather information via Siri. New customization options will let users adjust camera controls and add widgets for a personalized experience. The Photos app will feature Apple Intelligence Tools for advanced editing, including Extend and Reframe options, and potential voice-based AI editing. The Shortcuts app will enable users to create shortcuts using natural language, while the Wallet app will allow for the creation of digital passes and AI bill-splitting. Image Playground and Genmoji are also receiving updates for enhanced image generation and efficiency. Writing Tools will include expanded text generation and an AI grammar checker. Other updates include new features in apps like Safari, Calendar, Health, Weather, and AirPods settings, as well as system-wide design changes and support for a foldable iPhone interface. Performance improvements are a priority, with Apple aiming for enhanced efficiency and battery life. iOS 27 is expected to launch in September, following a preview at Apple’s WWDC 2026 event.
