What new features does iOS 27 bring to Find My?

The upcoming iOS 27 update introduces several enhancements to Apple’s Find My app on the iPhone, aiming to improve user experience. Currently in developer beta, with a public beta expected in July, the update is set for a September release for all users.

Among the new features is “Hide Location,” which allows users to temporarily stop sharing their location with specific contacts without sending any notification, perfect for surprise events like birthday parties.

Additionally, users can now customize how long they share their location, choosing any duration from 15 minutes to 30 days, unlike the more limited options available in iOS 26.

iOS 27 also expands landscape mode to more built-in apps, including Find My, enhancing usability and potentially preparing for future devices like the rumored “iPhone Ultra.” To activate landscape mode, users need to turn their iPhone sideways and ensure the Portrait Orientation Lock is disabled in the Control Center.
