Leaked images have unveiled iOS 27’s revamped Siri app and its innovative “Search or Ask” feature. The new Siri app allows users on iPhone, iPad, and Mac to interact with Apple’s assistant through both text and voice, enabling back-and-forth conversations with an option to expire messaging history. The app is designed to function similarly to popular chatbots like ChatGPT, Gemini, and Claude, featuring a dark interface by default with options for text prompts, voice mode, and file attachments. Additionally, iOS 27 introduces a personalized version of Siri, enhancing on-screen awareness and understanding of personal context. Users can inquire about personal data, such as availability for appointments, and request Siri to compose emails or messages using device or internet information. Integrated into the Dynamic Island, the “Search or Ask” interface can be launched by swiping down from the top center of the iPhone screen, providing revamped “Siri Suggestions” and AI-powered web search capabilities. Results are displayed in rich text cards, with the option to delve deeper into conversations within the Siri app. Compatibility is expected for iPhone 15 Pro and newer models, with Apple’s collaboration with Google ensuring Gemini’s role in powering AI models for Apple Intelligence features. Additional enhancements include a Siri mode for the Camera app and new tools in the Photos app. iOS 27 is set to be unveiled at Apple’s WWDC 2026 keynote, with a public release anticipated in September.
