What new features does the Samsung Camera Assistant update bring?

Samsung has rolled out an update for its Camera Assistant app on Galaxy devices with One UI 8.5, introducing a host of features aimed at enhancing the Pro photo and video modes. Users can now save custom Pro mode presets, allowing them to quickly apply preferred settings without having to adjust them each time. These presets include ISO, shutter speed, exposure, focus, and white balance settings, and even remember the specific camera lens used. Focus peaking is now customizable, with options to change the overlay color and outline thickness.

Additionally, Pro mode controls such as white balance and exposure can now be added to the standard Photo mode. While ISO and shutter speed can’t be manually set, users can establish limits to reduce noise or avoid motion blur. The update also supports Tilta wireless lens controllers for more precise focus and zoom control, and introduces the ability to disable both electronic and optical image stabilization.

Users can customize interface indicators in Photo and Video modes, choosing when they appear on screen, and can enable or disable Dual Rec and Single Take modes in the camera’s selection screen.
