Apple is set to introduce significant updates with iOS 27, focusing on a more customizable Camera app. Users will have the flexibility to choose which features, such as flash, exposure, and resolution, they want to display. These features, referred to as widgets, can be arranged at the top of the interface and accessed from a widget tray. The app will maintain its current default layout but will offer an advanced customizable option for professional users. New modes, including a Siri camera mode with Visual Intelligence features, will also be introduced.
In the Weather app, a new Conditions panel will allow users to switch easily between temperature, rain, and wind views, similar to the existing interface. Safari will feature an updated start page with tabs for favorites, bookmarks, Reading List, and history.
System-wide design changes are also anticipated, including a unified tab bar in apps like Apple Music and Podcasts, moving away from the previously separate search function. The on-screen keyboard will have a new animation with keys sliding up, and users will gain redo and undo controls for Home Screen customization.
Apple plans to unveil iOS 27 at the Worldwide Developers Conference on June 8.
