Tapbots has released Pastebot 3, the latest version of its clipboard manager for Mac, focused on automated organization and more powerful paste filters. The app captures everything you copy, makes it easy to organize snippets, and provides tools to transform content before pasting.
Pastebot 3: automatic organization and advanced filters
Pastebot 3 stores copied links, images, and text in Custom Pastebins that you can organize manually. At the same time, Smart Pastebins—rule-based collections—automatically sort items by source (for example, Safari) or by detailed criteria: clip size, type, file extension, creation date, textual content, text length, and more. Multiple parameters can be combined for fine-grained filtering, and you can add custom notes to clippings to make them easier to find via search.
Filters that transform content before pasting
The app lets you apply custom filters to copied text before it’s pasted. Options include: convert to plain text, remove smart punctuation, wrap in paragraph tags, convert to uppercase/lowercase, strip emojis, search-and-replace, extract URLs or phone numbers, remove empty lines, sort, and translate. Filters can be chained, and you can assign keyboard shortcuts to frequently used filters to speed up workflows.
Quick access and multi-paste management
A quick-paste menu, invoked with Shift+Command+V, gives access to your most-used clippings from any app. The Stack feature lets you copy multiple items and paste them sequentially—handy for inserting several snippets in a row without switching back to the clipboard between each paste.
Privacy, syncing and automation
To protect sensitive data, Pastebot 3 includes an app blacklist: content copied from blacklisted apps is never recorded. All clippings and filters sync across Macs via iCloud, and the app supports Apple’s Universal Clipboard—if enabled, items copied on your iPhone are automatically saved to Pastebot and can be pasted from the phone. Pastebot 3 also integrates with Apple Shortcuts and provides a command-line interface (CLI) for automating clipping management.
Compatibility, pricing and trial
Pastebot 3 requires macOS Tahoe or later. From Tapbots, it’s $39 with one year of updates included, and you can add a second year for $19. On the Mac App Store there is a subscription option at $24.99/year or $2.99/month. Pastebot 2 license holders are eligible for a $12.99 discount on the direct purchase. New users get a 14-day free trial. Pastebot can retain up to 1,500 clippings, and you can customize how many items are saved.
By combining rule-based organization, modular filters, and system integrations, Pastebot 3 targets users who want fine-grained control over their clipboard without sacrificing privacy or cross-device sync.
