Apple is gearing up to introduce two versions of the A20 chip for the iPhone 18 series. The standard iPhone 18 will feature the A20 chip, while the iPhone 18 Pro models and a highly anticipated foldable iPhone will boast the A20 Pro chip. These will be the first iPhone processors produced using TSMC’s advanced 2nm process, promising significant improvements in performance and power efficiency over previous models. Unlike its predecessors, some A20 chips will incorporate RAM directly on the same wafer as the CPU, GPU, and Neural Engine, potentially enhancing efficiency and reducing chip size. Apple plans to stagger its iPhone releases, with the iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and the foldable iPhone expected in September 2026, while the iPhone 18 and iPhone 18e are anticipated in March 2027.
