In the first half of 2025, Stride Ventures emerged as the leading investor in the startup ecosystem, supporting 47 startups. Alteria Capital closely followed with 42 deals, while WeFounder Circle completed 41 investments. The Indian startup scene experienced a revival after a two-year funding lull, with an 8% increase in investments, totaling $5.7 billion. This period also saw five startups achieving unicorn status, fueled by 11 mega deals each worth over $100 million. The number of investors participating in funding rounds surged by 29%, with more than 1,100 investors involved. While fintech and ecommerce attracted significant investment, emerging sectors like defense tech and artificial intelligence also gained attention. Debt funding constituted 7.6% of the total capital raised. Notably, some major venture capital firms did not make the top 10 list of active investors.
