Why should you be thrilled about the One UI 8.5 update?

After more than four months of beta testing, Samsung has officially begun the rollout of the One UI 8.5 update. Initially available in South Korea, the update will gradually reach eligible Galaxy devices in Europe, Hong Kong, India, Latin America, North America, Southeast Asia, and Taiwan. This update is packed with exciting new features, including a customizable Quick Panel that allows for various adjustments to options and toggles. Additional personalization can be achieved through Quick Star with Good Lock. Galaxy S25 Ultra users will benefit from the horizontal lock feature, previously introduced with the Galaxy S26 Ultra, now available with One UI 8.5. The update also includes new Galaxy AI features, many of which will be accessible to at least the Galaxy S25 series, though some may not extend to older devices.
