Why was Dublin Airport evacuated due to a security alert?

Dublin Airport experienced an evacuation earlier today due to an “extreme security alert” linked to a cyber attack affecting several major European airports. Authorities suspect this may be part of a coordinated effort, as technical disruptions have been reported, causing slow queues, delays, and cancellations. The issue centers on Collins Aerospace, a third-party supplier providing check-in and boarding systems for multiple airlines. Airports like Heathrow and Brussels are among those impacted, with Brussels seeing 14 flight cancellations and delays of up to an hour. The situation comes shortly after Dublin Airport relaxed its hand luggage liquid restrictions, allowing passengers to carry up to two liters and bypass the need for clear plastic bags. The airport has since reopened, and passengers have returned.
