Will Apple Return to a Familiar Case Design with the iPhone 18 Pro?

Apple might be reconsidering its clear case design for the upcoming iPhone 18 Pro models. Recent images of third-party cases suggest a shift back to the traditional MagSafe ring design, moving away from the criticized opaque white panel introduced with the iPhone 17 Pro. This previous design, featuring a large white rectangle that covered most of the case, was met with disapproval from users who felt it obscured the phone’s color. The proposed new design offers an open horseshoe shape, allowing the Apple logo to remain visible without the need for a large opaque section. This change could reflect a response to consumer feedback and align with anticipated design elements of the new iPhone models. The iPhone 18 Pro and iPhone 18 Pro Max cases show large camera cutouts, consistent with previous models, while the standard iPhone 18 case suggests a vertical dual-camera layout. These models are expected to be unveiled alongside Apple’s first foldable iPhone in the fall, with other versions like the iPhone 18e and iPhone Air 2 following in the spring.
