At CES 2026, a novel AI assistant concept is being showcased by KEYi Tech, known for its Loona and ClicBot robots. Their latest innovation, DeskMate, transforms an iPhone into an AI companion via a desktop charging hub. This device utilizes the iPhone’s display, camera, and microphone to create an interactive experience. Equipped with a rotating MagSafe charging stand, it ensures the iPhone remains focused on the user during interactions, even featuring animated eyes on the screen for a lively touch.
The DeskMate app springs into action once the iPhone is docked, enabling voice command functionality, calendar management, reminders, and question responses. Additionally, it can initiate conversations, offer suggestions, and provide updates upon the user’s return to their desk. Seamless integration with workplace tools like Slack, email, and calendar apps allows it to participate in video meetings for note-taking and summarizing tasks. Over time, DeskMate learns user habits and preferences, tailoring its interactions accordingly.
Set to launch a Kickstarter campaign in March, the device is expected to be priced under $300, although the final price is yet to be confirmed.
