Google Maps is preparing to introduce Gemini AI support for CarPlay users, enhancing navigation with detailed directions and information. This feature, already available on iPhone, will allow users to interact with Gemini directly through CarPlay after accepting new Terms of Service. Apple’s recent update to iOS 26.4 has paved the way for third-party voice apps like Gemini to integrate with CarPlay. Although not yet active, the integration framework is present in the app, suggesting a rollout could be imminent. Meanwhile, other AI platforms like ChatGPT, Grok, and Perplexity are already accessible on CarPlay.
