Will pQCee’s $3.9M raise accelerate post‑quantum crypto agility?

Singapore — Quantum-safe cybersecurity startup pQCee today announced a $3.9 million seed funding round to accelerate deployment of crypto‑agility solutions for enterprises and regulated organizations. The round was co‑led by state‑backed deep‑tech investor SGInnovate and Lotus One Investment, and also included In Group Holdings, Wavemaker Ventures, SUTD Venture Holdings and Apsara Investments.

pQCee frames the funding as a response to the shift of post‑quantum cryptography (PQC) from academic research into enterprise IT supply chains. The capital will be used to strengthen local engineering in Singapore and to speed market entry in the US, Europe and the Middle East. The company previously raised $2.8 million from institutional investors in 2022, bringing total funding to $6.7 million.

pQCee: products to secure the post‑quantum transition
To minimize operational friction when replacing existing architectures, pQCee offers a modular integration suite:
– SafeQuard: an end‑to‑end encryption software layer designed to mitigate “Harvest Now, Decrypt Later” (HNDL) exposure.
– QKDLite: a key‑management middleware compatible with industry standards such as PKCS#11, ETSI QKD 014 and FIPS 203.
– inoQulate and QuICScript: tools that provide post‑quantum PKI certificates and a browser‑accessible quantum simulator (20‑qubit environment) for algorithm testing.

These components are built to enable crypto‑agility — the ability to remotely swap or update cryptographic algorithms via cloud patches without wholesale hardware replacement.

Strategic partnerships for interoperability
Rather than forcing proprietary hardware, pQCee is focused on integration with standard IT ecosystems. The startup has formalized integration agreements with Thales and Feitian to embed quantum‑safe protections into hardware security modules (HSMs) and secure edge devices. It is also working with Netrust and SendQuick to extend post‑quantum parameters to digital identity services, enterprise messaging and automated workflows.

Regulatory and technical context
The raise follows NIST’s finalization of PQC standards, the introduction of FIPS standards based on ML‑KEM schemes, and tightening compliance deadlines for highly regulated sectors such as banking, telecoms and critical infrastructure. pQCee highlights that the most immediate threat is not the sudden collapse of public keys but HNDL — the practice of harvesting encrypted data today that can be decrypted by future, fully operational quantum computers.

Headquartered in Singapore, pQCee says it leverages the city‑state’s role as a regional financial hub operating under strict regulatory frameworks.
