An international conference focusing on Climate Change and Artificial Intelligence is set to take place in Quetta, as announced by Balochistan Governor Jaffar Khan Mandokhail. The event aims to gather top scientists, UN representatives, and global experts to tackle some of the most urgent global challenges. During a meeting with BUITEMS Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez, the governor highlighted the university’s capability to host such a prestigious event, which will align with the United Nations Decade on Ecosystem Restoration. This conference is expected to foster international collaboration in climate research, environmental protection, and technological innovation. Governor Mandokhail emphasized that climate change poses a threat to humanity’s future, urging global cooperation for ecosystem restoration and innovative solutions. He also addressed the disparity between university graduates and job opportunities in Pakistan, advocating for public-private partnerships, entrepreneurship, and market-oriented education to create new opportunities for the youth. Additionally, BUITEMS students will receive laptops under the Prime Minister’s Laptop Scheme to enhance their digital skills. The governor encouraged the expansion of academic programs in emerging technologies like AI and Data Science to prepare students for global job markets. He praised the efforts of Vice Chancellor Prof. Dr. Khalid Hafeez in raising academic standards, aiming to transform BUITEMS into a globally recognized institution for science and technology.
