Will Shanghai host the 2026 World AI Conference?

The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference and High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance is set to take place in Shanghai next week, promising an unprecedented scale of exhibitions across three key areas. Under the theme “AI Partnership for a Brighter Future,” the event will occur from July 17 to 20, featuring exhibitions in the Expo area, Zhangjiang, and West Bund. The conference will host 140 forum sessions and cover an exhibition area of over 100,000 square meters. More than 1,100 enterprises are expected to present over 3,000 products, with over 300 AI innovations making their global debut. The event is structured into six main segments, including forums, exhibitions, awards, application experiences, innovation incubation, and talent recruitment, with preparations nearing completion. The conference will involve 12 national ministries and commissions, eight national key laboratories, and over ten international organizations, welcoming more than 1,400 guests from China and abroad. This year’s conference will also introduce a high-level international academic conference for the first time.
