Will the Galaxy S26 Face a Price Increase and Fewer Pre-Order Benefits?

The anticipated Galaxy S26 series from Samsung is expected to see a price increase, driven by rising component costs, particularly memory chips, and ongoing supply chain pressures. While the U.S. market might be spared from this hike, Samsung is contemplating cutting back on traditional pre-order perks. Historically, early buyers enjoyed a free storage upgrade, but with soaring memory prices, this incentive might be discontinued. The upgrade from 256GB to 512GB, which typically adds around $120 to the retail value, is becoming too costly for Samsung to maintain in a competitive market. Although it’s uncertain if a new incentive will replace it, any new offer is unlikely to match the previous value. As the Galaxy S26 launch approaches, expected at the next Galaxy Unpacked event in late February, Samsung is also enhancing its Mystery Box program. Customers who pre-order a Galaxy S26, S26+, or S26 Ultra through this program will receive a complimentary 65W charger, protective case, desktop stand, and additional accessories.
