Samsung is gearing up for the launch of the Galaxy S26 Ultra in early 2026, introducing significant changes in its camera technology. The company has expanded its supplier base, with MCNEX now contributing to the 50MP telephoto zoom camera, making it one of seven vendors involved in the production of the phone’s five cameras. The 200MP main camera will be manufactured entirely by Samsung, while other components will see contributions from Samsung Electro-Mechanics, Sunny Optical, Patron, Power Logics, and Namuga.
This diversification aims to enhance image quality and stabilize production. Notably, Power Logics will replace MCNEX for the 3x zoom camera, while the 50MP 5x zoom camera will have three suppliers. The production of camera modules is expected to begin in November 2025, with mass production of the phone following soon after. Samsung anticipates producing approximately 35 million Galaxy S devices annually, with half of those being Ultra models. The Galaxy S26 series, including the S26 Edge and S26 Pro, is set to debut in January or February, with more details likely to emerge in the coming days.
