In 2020, Samsung introduced its first clamshell foldable smartphone, the Galaxy Z Flip, which was powered by a Qualcomm chipset. Since then, each new model in the series has been equipped with a Snapdragon SoC, until this year. The current flagship, the Galaxy Z Flip 7, marked a departure by incorporating the Exynos 2500, making it the first in the series to use an Exynos chipset. Looking ahead, Samsung appears set to continue this trend. Reports indicate that the upcoming Galaxy Z Flip 8 will be powered by the newly launched Exynos 2600 chipset. Additionally, this SoC is anticipated to be featured in two of Samsung’s forthcoming non-foldable flagship devices, the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+.
