Will the iPhone 18 Solve the Camera Control Issue?

Apple plans to address a common complaint about the Camera Control button found in the iPhone 16 and iPhone 17 models with its upcoming iPhone 18. The current button, which offers quick access to the Camera app and settings, has been criticized for its touch sensitivity and haptic feedback, features that often lead to accidental swipes. The iPhone 18 is expected to feature a redesigned Camera Control button that removes its capacitive layer, relying solely on pressure sensitivity. This change aims to enhance user experience and reduce production costs. Additionally, Apple has made adjustments in iOS 18.2 to give users more control over the button’s functionality, including disabling swipe gestures by default. The iPhone 18 Pro models are anticipated to be released next September, with the standard iPhone 18 model following in spring 2027.
