Will the iPhone 18e Miss Out on ProMotion Display?

Apple’s upcoming iPhone 18e is set to maintain the same 60Hz LTPS TFT display as its predecessor, the iPhone 17e. This decision means the device will not include the ProMotion 120Hz refresh rate and Always-On display technology, features anticipated in the rest of the iPhone 18 lineup. Despite similar Android phones offering 120Hz displays at comparable prices, Apple is holding off on using LTPO panels until the fourth-generation model, expected in 2028. This delay is tied to the development of a next-generation LTPO+ display technology, designed to consume less battery power. Initially, LTPO+ is planned for Apple’s high-end models, potentially allowing standard LTPO panels to become available for other models. However, if the new technology isn’t ready, the adoption of LTPO panels for the iPhone 19e could face delays.
