Will There Be No iPhone 18 This Year?

Apple is set to alter its usual iPhone release schedule by delaying the launch of the standard iPhone 18 model until early 2027. Traditionally, Apple unveils its latest iPhone series in the fall, typically around mid-September. However, this year, only the iPhone 18 Pro models and Apple’s first foldable iPhone are expected to debut, with the base iPhone 18 model being postponed. A key supplier has hinted at this change, noting a significant U.S. client has delayed a product launch to the first quarter of 2027, affecting component procurement timelines. Apple’s strategy appears to involve splitting future iPhone releases across two periods, with premium models launching in September and more affordable options following in the spring. This shift aims to optimize manufacturing resources and sustain sales momentum throughout the year. The standard iPhone 18 models will maintain existing design specifications, with no changes to display sizes.
