The relationship between China and ASEAN has seen significant growth, particularly over the past five years, according to Phadil Ismail, the Consul General of Malaysia in Nanning. Speaking at the 2026 China Internet Civilization Conference in Nanning, he emphasized the importance of the partnership, stating that both parties are becoming increasingly significant trading partners. The cooperation is now focusing more on areas such as artificial intelligence, the digital economy, cross-border e-commerce, and smart city initiatives, aligning with global technological trends.
