Samsung has launched the Galaxy Card in the United States — a Visa credit card issued by Barclays US Consumer Bank and built to sit tightly inside Samsung’s hardware and software ecosystem. Positioned as a direct response to the Apple Card, the Galaxy Card combines cash-back rewards on eligible Samsung purchases with device financing options.
Galaxy Card: integration and design
The Galaxy Card is offered as a premium metal card featuring a black Samsung logo and is designed to pair seamlessly with Samsung Wallet for digital payments. Payment data protection is handled through Samsung Knox. Samsung emphasizes deep integration between the card and its sales channels — Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, the Samsung Shop app and the Galaxy Store — and highlights financing options for eligible purchases made through those channels.
Rewards and benefits
The card’s cash-back structure is tiered:
– 5% back on eligible Samsung purchases made via Samsung.com, Samsung Experience Stores, the Samsung Shop app, the Galaxy Store and Samsung Care+ plans.
– 3% back on purchases made through Samsung Wallet.
– 2% back on subscriptions to certain streaming services (including Disney+, Netflix, Spotify and other partners).
– 1% back on all other purchases.
Additional perks include a 20% discount on Samsung VIP Advantage membership and 5% cash back when purchasing or renewing that membership.
Availability, launch terms and welcome bonus
Selected customers are already being invited to apply. General availability in the U.S. begins tomorrow, July 22, 2026, through Samsung’s website and its retail stores. New cardholders can earn a welcome bonus of up to $200 by spending $2,000 within the first 90 days of account opening.
Aimed squarely at the Apple Card
With the Galaxy Card, Samsung is directly challenging the Apple Card: both are cash-back credit products built around a vendor’s digital wallet. Samsung’s approach prioritizes higher reward rates for purchases within its own ecosystem and related services.
This marks Samsung’s first direct entry into the U.S. consumer credit card market, blending premium hardware design, software integration and financial incentives focused on Samsung device buyers.
