Built-in webcam support on Galaxy Z foldables
All three new Galaxy Z models ship with One UI 9.0 and include native support for using the phone’s camera as a video source for a PC. That effectively turns the device into a plug-and-play webcam, delivering the phone’s imaging hardware and processing without installing additional software on the computer.
Plug-and-play simplicity: one USB‑C cable
No special dongles or peripherals are required. Samsung says the phone connects directly to a computer using the included USB‑C cable, making it easy to upgrade a workstation’s video quality with minimal setup.
Context and known limitations
Samsung first introduced this capability with One UI 8.5, but availability has been inconsistent. Until recently, the feature was limited to the Galaxy S26 series; some older models, such as Galaxy S25 devices updated to One UI 8.5, did not receive the functionality. That means an update to One UI alone may not guarantee webcam support across all devices.
For the new Galaxy Z models that ship with One UI 9.0 preinstalled, however, webcam use is supported out of the box.
