Samsung is developing a new smartwatch, internally referred to as Galaxy Aero, that appears to run a real-time operating system (RTOS) instead of Wear OS and could be priced above the Galaxy Fit 4 but below the Galaxy Watch FE. Earlier reporting indicated the Galaxy Fit 4 could launch soon with upgraded wireless connectivity.
References to the device were found in the Galaxy Wearable app’s codebase, where Samsung refers to it as “galaxy_rtos_watch”. The code suggests the device will have a screen, though the display shape—circular, rectangular or square—remains unclear.
If Samsung positions the model above the Galaxy Fit 4, it will likely include common smartwatch sensors such as an accelerometer, gyroscope and a heart rate monitor.

The Galaxy Aero name may be only an internal codename; Samsung could ultimately launch the device under a different commercial name.
RTOS and battery expectations
The reference to an RTOS aligns the device with lower-priced wearables like the Galaxy Fit 4. Smartwatches that run RTOS usually use less powerful processors and can generally last at least a week on a single charge, and similar battery life can therefore be expected for the Galaxy Aero.
