Samsung Addresses Galaxy S26 Ultra Red Screen with Service and Update

Samsung has officially responded to reports that some Galaxy S26 Ultra units show a reddish tint on their displays, saying the problem is not caused by a display hardware defect and offering a software-based calibration fix through service centers or an upcoming software update.

The company posted a notice in the Samsung Members app in South Korea confirming the issue and outlining available remedies. Samsung said the reddish area appearing on affected displays can be corrected with a software calibration.

Galaxy S26 Ultra: service and software options

Samsung is offering affected users a free calibration service at authorized service centers regardless of the phone’s remaining usage period, and same-day service is available. The company also said it will deliver a software update that allows owners to apply the calibration fix without visiting a service center; Samsung will share rollout details after preparations are complete.

Samsung added, via a machine-translated statement, “We will continue to strive to provide our customers with a better user experience.”

Several Galaxy S26 Ultra owners reported the red screen issue over the past few weeks. While the S26 Ultra includes features such as a built-in privacy screen, the appearance of a reddish area on brand-new flagships has been a source of frustration for some users.

August 2026 security update

Samsung is also preparing the August 2026 security update for eligible devices, including the Galaxy S26 Ultra. The company has not yet provided a confirmed schedule for the calibration fix within that update.
