Galaxy S26 FE May Gain Horizontal Lock Camera Feature

Firmware references indicate the Galaxy S26 FE could receive Horizontal Lock, the horizon-leveling camera feature introduced with the Galaxy S26 series.

Galaxy S26 FE and Horizontal Lock

The feature keeps the video frame level while recording by maintaining a straight horizon when the phone tilts or rotates, helping produce steadier footage when walking or moving the phone and working alongside video stabilization. Samsung introduced Horizontal Lock with the Galaxy S26 series and later expanded it to the Galaxy Z Fold 8, Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, and Galaxy Z Flip 8.

A pre-release firmware file includes a flag that points directly to Horizontal Lock support: . These firmware findings do not guarantee the feature will ship in the final software, but they strongly suggest Samsung is testing or preparing Horizontal Lock for the Fan Edition device. The company is also expected to bring the feature to the Galaxy S25 series with a future One UI 9 update.

Release context for the Galaxy S26 FE

Separately, leaks have shown the Galaxy S26 FE’s wallpapers with three possible color options and the device has received FCC certification, which point to progress toward launch. The Galaxy S26 FE may debut in early September, likely at IFA 2026 in Berlin.
