Samsung had earlier announced shortly after opening preorders that the new foldables had achieved record-breaking preorder numbers; the Ice Universe estimate provides a clearer range for that claim.
Galaxy Z Fold 8 preorder breakdown
According to the estimate, the Galaxy Z Fold 8 alone accounts for about 2.9 million units, roughly 59% of total Galaxy Z Fold 8 series preorders. If accurate, these figures would represent the highest preorder numbers to date for Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold lineup.
Demand for the Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra, Galaxy Z Fold 8, and Galaxy Z Flip 8 has reportedly been strong across multiple markets, including South Korea. Samsung is said to be struggling to keep up with demand, and delivery timelines in several regions have slipped beyond the dates the company initially promised.
