Galaxy Z Fold 8: Nvidia’s Jensen Huang Uses Samsung Foldable on Stage

Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang was seen using Samsung’s Galaxy Z Fold 8 during an appearance at the All-In Summit in Los Angeles on September 14.

While speaking on stage, Huang received a call from US President Donald Trump and unfolded the phone to put the call on speaker so the audience could hear. The foldable’s large display showed “President Trump” as the caller and gave everyone a clear view of the device.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 in public view

Some outlets initially wondered whether Huang was using Apple’s recently unveiled iPhone Duo, but the device was clearly the Galaxy Z Fold 8, as indicated by the user interface and the screen’s rectangular shape.

Huang had previously been seen with a Galaxy Z Fold 7, which was reportedly a gift from Samsung Chairman Jay Y. Lee. It is unclear whether Samsung provided Huang with the Fold 8 or whether he obtained it elsewhere; in any case, he appears to have upgraded to Samsung’s latest, the first in the company’s new passport-shaped foldable lineup.

What it means for Samsung and Nvidia

Nvidia supplies chips that power a large part of the ongoing AI boom, and Huang is widely regarded as one of the tech industry’s most influential figures. Having him use the Galaxy Z Fold 8 represents strong publicity for Samsung, particularly now that Apple has entered the foldable smartphone market, though the report notes Samsung is probably hoping his next upgrade isn’t the iPhone Duo.
