SEOUL, Korea — Sept. 16, 2026 — Samsung Electronics Co., Ltd. announced the expansion of One UI 9 to additional Galaxy devices, with the rollout beginning today for the Galaxy S26, S26+ and S26 Ultra. One UI 9 previously debuted on the Galaxy Z Fold8 Ultra, Fold8 and Flip8.
One UI 9: Capture, Personalize and Manage
One UI 9 introduces new tools to keep people in focus, tailor daily information and simplify device care. My FanCam2 automatically tracks a selected person in recorded video, keeping them centered and intelligently reframing footage as the scene moves so users can produce social-ready clips with less manual editing — for example, a child’s performance, a friend on the dance floor or an exciting moment at a sporting event.
Generative and Editable Cards on Now Brief 3 let users choose what appears in their daily summaries by creating cards across health, weather and video, making briefs more personally relevant. Warranty and Care4 places device support and protection directly in Settings, enabling users to check warranty coverage across connected mobile devices, run self-diagnostics, view repair estimates and manage Samsung Care+ or book a service appointment from the Settings menu.
Enhanced Capabilities for Faster, Context-Aware Tasks
One UI 9 builds on familiar Galaxy experiences to reduce steps and add context-aware suggestions, timely creative prompts and improvements to translation, scanning and recording. Now Nudge can surface a timely option to add event details to the calendar directly from a conversation. Now Nudge 5 expands those context-aware suggestions across more moments in the Galaxy experience, allowing actions such as pulling up reservation details or saving a shared location without leaving the chat.
Creative Studio now suggests image-generation ideas tied to relevant upcoming events — for instance, prompting a themed image or greeting when a friend’s birthday is near. Interpreter 6 adds a Thread View to help users follow translated conversations by referencing earlier exchanges, and it offers faster translation in Conversation Mode plus quicker playback with compatible Galaxy Buds to reduce delays.
Document Scan has improved handling of challenging materials such as curved book pages and corner-folded papers, along with large-screen-optimized views on compatible Galaxy devices and an improved Finger Eraser for cleaner scans. Voice Recorder presents summaries in a clearer, more structured format using elements like headings and tables to make key information easier to scan.
Security and Privacy Updates
One UI 9 continues Samsung’s emphasis on transparency, choice and control for security and privacy. Security Brief brings alerts for malware, apps from unknown sources and unnecessary permissions into Now Brief, helping users identify potential issues earlier and decide when to act.
Privacy Alerts 7 use on-device AI to flag potential privacy risks, including unnecessary background attempts to access permissions, increasing user awareness of how information is being accessed. Scam Detection8 expands to additional countries and languages, extending protection against potential scam calls to more Galaxy users across supported markets.
