Apple updated its U.S. trade-in estimates, raising maximum trade-in values across the entire iPad lineup and for most Mac categories following the announcement of the new iPad mini. iPad increases are modest, while several Mac models saw substantially larger bumps.
Every iPad category received a higher maximum estimate. The standard iPad and iPad mini each rose by $20, the iPad Air increased by $15, and the iPad Pro went up by $10. The revised maximums are: iPad Pro $915 (from $905), iPad Air $525 (from $510), iPad mini $340 (from $320), and iPad $300 (from $280).
Trade-in values by iPad and Mac model
Mac trade-in estimates rose more sharply in this update. The Mac Pro increased by $365 to a maximum of $2,560, and the Mac Studio gained $240 to $1,700. Apple also raised laptop and desktop maxima: MacBook Pro to $1,435 (up $120), MacBook Air to $795 (up $90), Mac mini to $645 (up $25), and iMac to $440 (up $55). The iMac Pro remains unchanged at up to $340. All listed iPhone and Apple Watch trade-in estimates remain at the values set in September.
The changes continue a run of higher Mac trade-in estimates this year: the MacBook Pro maximum has more than doubled from $690 in May to $1,435, and the MacBook Air has risen from $520 to $795 over the same period.
Apple notes that the listed amounts are maximum estimates; final trade-in offers depend on a device’s condition, year, and configuration. Trade-in credit can be applied toward a qualifying new purchase or added to an Apple Gift Card.
