AIS Academy opened its annual technology conference, AIS ACADEMY for THAIs 2026, under the theme “MASTERING AI BEYOND BORDERS” at Samyan Mitrtown Hall on September 11, 2026. The two-day event brings together public and private sector representatives, academic institutions and global technology partners to discuss practical strategies for moving Thailand from basic artificial intelligence access to functional AI capability.
Kantima Lerlertyuttitham, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Corporate Officer at AIS, said Thailand’s technological progression must move beyond generative AI toward more advanced systems such as Artificial General Intelligence (AGI). She emphasized that sustainable development requires cultivating a workforce skilled in data-driven decision-making, critical questioning and responsible technology use, alongside continued development of foundational infrastructure.
The conference set out three primary operational shifts for national technological adaptation: migrating from isolated individual AI adoption to comprehensive organizational transformation; advancing workforce education from simple tool usage to critical analytical capabilities; and consolidating fragmented sector initiatives into an integrated national AI ecosystem. Organizers scheduled more than 30 industry speakers and over 20 practical workshops and masterclasses to address these dimensions.

Sessions across the two days are focused on practical implementation and capacity building to turn access to AI into functional national capability. The program is designed to involve stakeholders from government, industry and academia in aligning infrastructure, skills development and cross-sector coordination.
JUMP Thailand Hackathon final winners
The opening day also featured the final pitching round of the JUMP Thailand Hackathon 2026, held under the theme “AI for the Future of Thai Education.” From 603 competing teams representing 67 educational institutions nationwide, Team MAMO from Prince of Songkla University won first place with “Wathasin,” an AI speech coach. Team Rub Mao Kor Rueng, also from Prince of Songkla University, was first runner-up with “BrailleBox.” Team MR. BOBO, representing Chulalongkorn University and King Mongkut’s University of Technology North Bangkok, took second runner-up with “DEAFIN Education.” Khon Kaen University’s Team TLDR received the Popular Vote Award for “LearnLy.”
The conference concludes on September 12, 2026, with sessions focused on practical SME adoption, enterprise workflow integration and workforce readiness for automated systems.
