Asian cruise companies are expanding their horizons, offering unique alternatives to traditional cruise lines. Mitsui Ocean Cruises, a new premium Japanese line, has entered the market with the Mitsui Ocean Fuji, exploring regions across Japan, Taiwan, and South Korea. Meanwhile, South Korea’s Eastern Cruise and Saudi-owned Aroya Cruises are also making strides, with Aroya recently extending its reach to the Mediterranean. Malaysia’s StarDream Cruises and India’s Cordelia Cruises are broadening their itineraries across South-East Asia. China, a burgeoning player, is making waves with Adora Cruises and Huaxia International Cruises, the latter in collaboration with Viking Cruises. These developments suggest a shift towards international branding, with some Asian lines poised to challenge established cruise operators.
