The 140th Canton Fair in Guangzhou, China, attracted attention this year by showcasing 235,000 AI products among more than 20,000 exhibitors, with technology booths crowded from early morning.
Canton Fair draws crowds with AI products
Mr. Luong Lam Trieu, an exhibitor, said: “The Canton Fair is really getting more popular every year. By around 9:30, people have already lined up in two rows. Some buyers don’t want to wait to try the products, so they buy them right there.” From early opening hours, visitors were queuing at technology booths and testing devices on the spot.
AI products offering tangible help
Among the showcased technologies were robotic exoskeletons and intelligent AI machines that visitors said produced concrete improvements in people’s lives. Max Young, a visitor who has attended the Canton Fair three times, brought his mother, Suzanne Elliott, who suffered a stroke last year and was nearly unable to move on her own. At a booth demonstrating a robotic exoskeleton, she stood up and walked. Suzanne Elliott said: “It helps my legs walk. It’s good. It’s really good.”
Max Young added: “Last year my mother had a stroke, so the left side of her body is weaker. About a year ago, she couldn’t walk or stand at all. Today we tried this device. It seems very good. I think it will help her get better.” Canadian customer Yehuda Klein said: “Extremely impressive. Everything about efficiency and scale is huge. We see a lot of current manufacturing processes shifting to robots and AI technology, which is really advanced and precise. I think innovation is starting here.”
From exoskeletons that help patients stand up to intelligent AI machines, exhibitors and visitors said the fair demonstrated that innovation is not just about numbers but about life-changing moments.
