Did Apple remove the Siri AI waitlist workaround in macOS 27 Beta 2?

In the latest macOS 27 Golden Gate beta, Apple seems to have closed the loophole that previously allowed users to bypass the Siri AI waitlist using a Terminal command. Initially, beta 1 testers could access the enhanced Siri immediately by executing a simple command, thus avoiding Apple’s waitlist. However, users of the second developer beta, released on Monday, report that the command is no longer effective. Those who had activated Siri AI in the first beta are also being returned to the waitlist after updating. While Apple hasn’t commented on the change, it’s possible that the entitlement check used by the command has been altered to require server validation instead of relying on a local feature flag. This change might be due to Apple gradually increasing its server capacity for the new Siri, granting access to testers in phases. Users who employed the workaround in beta 1 might want to avoid updating to beta 2 to maintain access. Some users are exploring other methods, like submitting feedback to Apple, to speed up approval, but these remain unverified. For many, it might be best to wait in line, as Apple is reportedly granting access to new testers quickly. Siri AI, now a comprehensive chatbot, can utilize personal context to search across various apps and perform tasks throughout the system. On Mac, it integrates with Spotlight and is accessible via right-click context menus. It’s important to note that Siri AI is still unavailable on iPhone and iPad in the EU, though this restriction doesn’t apply to Mac.
