Dual Capture Expands to Group FaceTime with iOS 27.2

Apple released iOS 27.2 today, allowing the FaceTime Dual Capture feature to be used in Group FaceTime calls.

Dual Capture in Group FaceTime

Dual Capture lets users stream FaceTime video from both the front and rear cameras at the same time. On a compatible device running iOS 27, flipping the camera during a FaceTime call automatically turns on Dual Capture.

Dual Capture is available on the iPhone 17, iPhone 17 Pro, iPhone 17 Pro Max, iPhone Air, iPhone 18 Pro, iPhone 18 Pro Max, and iPhone Duo.

Compatibility and Duo FaceTime

The iPhone Duo also supports Duo FaceTime, an option that uses the under-display camera on the inner display and the outer display camera to let a second person join a group call without having to squeeze everyone into a single frame.

iOS 27.2 also adds an option to include a third-party sign language interpreter or a live captioner in a call.
