Hai Phong — According to recent leaks, the Galaxy S27 could arrive as early as January 2027, with 3C certification data suggesting Samsung may return to its traditional January launch window rather than the late-February or March timing used for the Galaxy S26.
The tip stems from a screenshot shared on X by leaker Anvin that is purportedly taken from China’s 3C certification database. The listing is believed to refer to the Galaxy S27 and Galaxy S27+ and offers a timing clue: 3C certifications for past models have appeared several months before official unveilings. For example, the Galaxy S26 series received 3C certification in China in January 2026 ahead of the devices’ March launch and sale, while the Galaxy S25 launched in January 2025 after completing 3C certification in September 2024. If Samsung follows a similar timeline, a January 2027 event appears plausible, while a February 2027 unveiling becomes less likely. Official timing has not been confirmed and Samsung’s plans could change.
Galaxy S27 charging
The same 3C listing points to charging specifications that may disappoint some users. The Galaxy S27, reportedly model number SM-S9520, appears capped at 25W charging, while the Galaxy S27+, reportedly SM-S9560, is listed with 45W support. If accurate, the standard Galaxy S model would retain 25W charging for a seventh consecutive year.
Charging wattage on paper does not always reflect real-world charging speeds. The source notes that previous tests showed the Galaxy S26 and Galaxy S26+ can charge slightly faster than their predecessors despite identical maximum charging ratings. Samsung could still improve actual charging performance on the Galaxy S27 through software optimizations, improved thermal management or greater charging efficiency; if such improvements are effective, the S27 could reach a full charge faster than S26 models even without an increased nominal charging wattage.
