Galaxy Tab S12, S12 Ultra and SmartTag 3 launch in South Korea

Samsung has launched three new products in its home market today: the Galaxy SmartTag 3 and two tablets in the Galaxy Tab S12 family — the Galaxy Tab S12+ and the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra. The devices were announced last week and are now on sale in South Korea; Samsung says they will arrive in other countries and regions soon.

Galaxy SmartTag 3: features and pricing

The Galaxy SmartTag 3 is priced at KRW 44,000 (about $33) in South Korea and is available in Black and White. Samsung also offers a 4‑pack bundle for KRW 149,600 (about $111), a 15% saving versus buying four individual units. Buyers who purchase the tracker alongside a Galaxy S26 series device (including the S26 FE), Galaxy Z Flip 8, or Galaxy Z Fold 8 by October 31 receive a 30% discount.

The SmartTag 3 adopts a sleeker, lighter design but omits an integrated lanyard cutout, so users will need a case or accessory to attach it to items. It supports Bluetooth 6.0 and Ultra‑Wideband (UWB), is compatible with Android and iOS smartphones, and runs on a standard CR2032 3V coin cell battery with up to 790 days of battery life. An updated Compass View provides directional tracking up to 60 meters.

Samsung is selling several official accessories for the tracker: a Silicone Case in five colors (Black, Blue, Lavender, Mint, and White), a Loop Case for luggage, a Pet Name Tag Case for leashes and harnesses, and a Bicycle Case for mounting to bike frames.

Galaxy Tab S12 series: specs and pricing

The Galaxy Tab S12+ features a 12.6‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display, while the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra has a 14.6‑inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X panel. Both panels support a 120Hz variable refresh rate and the tablets include four speakers with four‑channel spatial audio. Each tablet is IP68 rated for dust and water resistance and ships with an IP68‑certified S Pen.

Both models are powered by MediaTek’s Dimensity 9500 processor and run Android 17 with One UI 9.0. Samsung commits to seven major Android OS upgrades and seven years of regular security patches for the tablets. Camera hardware includes a 12MP front camera and a 13MP rear camera on both models; the Tab S12 Ultra adds an 8MP ultrawide rear camera that is not present on the Tab S12+.

Standard memory and storage across the lineup are 12GB of RAM with either 256GB or 512GB of onboard storage, and both support microSD expansion. The Tab S12 Ultra also offers a high‑end configuration with 16GB of RAM and 1TB of storage. The devices use an Enhanced Armor Aluminum body, feature an in‑screen fingerprint reader, Wi‑Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, a USB 3.2 Type‑C port, Samsung DeX support, 4K 30fps video recording, and 45W fast wired charging. Battery capacities are 10,600mAh for the Tab S12+ and 11,600mAh for the Tab S12 Ultra.

In South Korea the Galaxy Tab S12+ is priced at KRW 1,549,900 (12GB + 256GB, about $1,153) and KRW 2,069,100 (12GB + 512GB, about $1,540). The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is listed at KRW 1,899,700 (12GB + 256GB, about $1,414) and KRW 3,018,400 for the 16GB + 1TB variant (about $2,246).

Samsung is bundling a free anti‑reflective screen protector with every tablet purchase. Early buyers in South Korea can also select one of the launch perks offered at sale, as announced by Samsung. The company plans broader regional and global rollouts in the near future.
