Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra adds full-resolution 200MP shots with HDR

The Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra’s 200MP primary camera can capture full-resolution 200MP images with HDR and multi-frame processing, offering a wide dynamic range whether users choose 12MP, 50MP or 200MP still-image modes.

Multi-frame processing should improve color rendition and reduce instances of blown-out highlights and crushed shadows.

HDR processing preserves more detail in overly bright or overly dark areas compared with the Galaxy Z Fold 7, an improvement likely powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy processor.

Galaxy Z Fold 8 Ultra: 200MP performance compared to earlier models

On earlier models with 200MP cameras, such as the Galaxy S25 Ultra and the Galaxy Z Fold 7, selecting the 200MP resolution in the Camera app’s Photo mode resulted in blown-out highlights, crushed shadows and a limited color range.
