HomeView Debuts as Apple Reveals New Apple TV 4K and HomePod mini 2

Apple this week unveiled HomeView, a new $299 smart home hub, and refreshed several home products while iPhone Duo pre-orders quickly slipped to months-long delivery estimates. Pre-orders are already live for HomeView, the new Apple TV 4K and the HomePod mini 2, and Apple has begun inviting media to an October 28 “Launch Experience” for additional product reveals.

HomeView: Apple’s new smart home hub

Apple’s long-rumored smart home hub, the HomeView, is official and priced at $299. The device features a 7-inch Liquid Retina display, Siri AI support, and will be offered in both tabletop and wall-mounted versions. HomeView can recognize multiple users and adjusts its presentation of information depending on how far a user is from the screen. It supports Photos faces, Apple Music playlists, FaceTime calls and other standard integrations. Pre-orders are underway now, with a launch set for November 13.

Apple TV 4K gains A19 chip and updated Siri Remote

Apple also introduced a fourth-generation Apple TV 4K, the platform’s first update in four years. The new box uses an A19 chip that brings Siri AI support and improved performance. A redesigned Siri Remote, which will also be sold separately for older boxes, adds Find My support with Precision Finding and a speaker so the remote can be located by sound. The Apple TV box itself now includes microphones for hands-free Siri AI. The new Apple TV 4K is priced at $299, available for pre-order now and launches on November 13.

HomePod mini 2 offers S10 chip, Sound Glow and four‑speaker surround sound

Apple’s HomePod mini 2 is priced at $149 and adds an S10 chip that supports advanced computational audio, which Apple says optimizes dynamic range, loudness and acoustic performance in real time. A Sound Glow feature turns the HomePod mini’s top into a visual canvas that glows and animates in sync with music, reacting to bass and treble and using colors generated from the song’s album artwork. The update includes four‑speaker surround sound, new colors and Siri AI support; however, Siri AI will not be available at launch and will arrive in a future software update. The HomePod mini 2 is available for pre-order now ahead of an October 30 launch.

iPhone Duo pre-orders sell out for Christmas as shipping slips to 2027

iPhone Duo pre-orders opened in multiple countries at 5 a.m. Pacific Time on Friday, and delivery estimates began slipping within minutes. Within half an hour in the U.S., delivery estimates stabilized at late January 2027, a roughly three-month delay from expectations. It remains unclear how much, if any, stock Apple will have at its retail stores for walk-in purchases on the October 23 launch date. Scalpers are already reselling early pre-orders for as much as $5,000.

Apple invites media to October 28 event; more products expected

Apple has begun explicitly inviting members of the media to a “Launch Experience” on October 28. Additional products expected to appear at the October 27–28 showcase include new high-end 14-inch and 16-inch MacBook models with touchscreen OLED displays, new iMac and entry-level MacBook Pro models based around the M6 chip, and a new iPad mini with an OLED display.

The company is bridging a busy launch period for the home and computing lines with pre-orders already open for several products and broader availability set for late October and mid-November.
