How does the Galaxy S26 Ultra’s gaming performance compare to the S25 Ultra?

The Galaxy S26 Ultra, Samsung’s latest flagship, showcases substantial improvements in performance compared to its predecessor, the Galaxy S25 Ultra. Notably, the S26 Ultra excels in several benchmark tests, demonstrating superior capabilities in both general use and gaming scenarios.

In Geekbench 6, the S26 Ultra outperforms the S25 Ultra in single- and multi-core tests, thanks to enhanced NPU performance that boosts AI processing. The AnTuTu benchmark also highlights the S26 Ultra’s dominance, showcasing its prowess in multi-core CPU and overall system performance. While the PCMark Work 3.0 test shows a slight edge for the S26 Ultra, it nonetheless leads.

Gaming performance is where the S26 Ultra truly shines. In the 3DMark Wild Life Extreme Stress Test, it surpasses the S25 Ultra, maintaining higher performance during intense gaming sessions. The 3DMark Solar Bay Extreme test, which evaluates ray tracing capabilities, sees the S26 Ultra narrowly beating its predecessor. However, in the Solar Bay Extreme Stress Test, the S26 Ultra’s peak performance is superior, though it experiences more throttling over time, likely due to software optimizations still being refined for its Adreno 840 GPU.

The Basemark GPU test further confirms the S26 Ultra’s superiority, achieving higher scores and framerates. Overall, the Galaxy S26 Ultra offers a noticeable improvement in performance, efficiency, and thermal management, making it a worthy upgrade for users seeking enhanced gaming and processing power.
