The Punjab School Education Board (PSEB) has taken a significant step towards integrating Artificial Intelligence (AI) into the educational framework of Punjab with the conclusion of a two-day National-Level Conference on AI at the CII Northern Region Headquarters in Chandigarh. The event, featuring workshops by tech giants Google and Intel, brought together policymakers, educators, and technology leaders to establish a responsible roadmap for AI in classrooms. Dr. Amarpal Singh, the Chairman of PSEB, highlighted the importance of ethical AI usage to enhance students’ creativity and problem-solving skills. He urged students to make ethical decisions regarding the AI tools they use, akin to choosing good friends, ensuring that technology aids learning without compromising core values.
Google’s sessions emphasized AI’s transformative potential in education, advocating for awareness and sensitization among key academic stakeholders. Intel’s workshop on “AI in the Workplace” provided practical training on deploying AI tools within government frameworks, stressing data privacy and responsible usage.
IKG PTU conducted a workshop for school leaders on integrating AI into academic management, emphasizing the need to identify AI-generated content to maintain academic integrity. Meanwhile, Neeev AI’s student-focused workshop introduced practical AI applications, encouraging responsible experimentation with emerging tools.
